My wife Beth Hafer is running for Congress in Pennsylvania's 18th District in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Beth is more then qualified to perform the duties of a congresswomen. With her current activities of VP of Hafer & Assoc. (a governmental fiscal consulting firm) to a science teacher at Moon Area Middle School, she always strives to assist with the education and betterment of others. Beth is also a very caring indvidual, while working for Legg Mason Real Estate Service in the Pension Fund Advisory group, she cut her career short, to return home and care for her father during the last months of his life.
In the field of Challengers, Beth has proven to be the most formidable opponent to the incumbent. During her 1st Quarter (3Q 2007) she raised over $75K, or comparable to the first quarter of Freshman Congressmen Jason Altmire (PA-4) and Patrick Murphy (PA-8). Addtionally, Beth's Mother, Barbara Hafer has held the Statewide offices of Treasurer and Auditor General and was the first woman elected county commissioner of Allegheny County. I am coming to you to help assist me with a little project I have been charged with. Being a spouse of a candidate has many duties, but I am asking for assistance in making Beth's second quarter twice as nice as her first. In the first quarter I assisted with raising several thousand dollars from my close circle of family and friends. It is now time to advance it to a broader spectrum of political contributors. That is why I am trying to gain support from alternative sources.Being a surrogate for my wife's campaign, I have been tasked with raising several thousand dollars again this quarter. I would like to meet this goal and hopefully surpass it. To keep both local and national organizations interested in her campaign, we need to keep the momentum we started in the first quarter continuing into the second. Even a donation of $100 or $50 will help us change the attitude of politics in Washington, but any support financial or otherwise would be greatly appreciated by myself, Beth, and the constituents of the PA-18 Congressional District. THE CHALLENGE
